Tomar kachhe chahi bale nishwa ami khudra
Ta na hale amio je jagat guru rudra
Tomar mata mahan hate chaina e pran kabhu
Shaman hale bhakti sudha raibena je prabhu

I ask You for things,
Therefore, I am insignificant and destitute.
If not, I could also be Rudra, the Guru of the world.
My heart never wants to be as great as You are,
O Lord, if I equal You, then in me the nectar of devotion
    will reside no more.
