Ekti katha mane pare ekti shudhu katha
Ke amare dila mago malin bachalata
Sathi amar chhila mago tomar nirabata
Ke nila ma kere amar hiyar praphullata

Only one thought flashes across my mind, 
    only one thought:
Who has given me such impure power of talkativeness, 
    this meaningless babble?
Mother, I know my only companion was silence.
Who has taken that silence away from me, Mother,
And who has taken away the cheerfulness of my heart?
