Hiya Pakhi

O bird of my heart,
Fly on, fly on.
Look not behind.
Whatever the world gives
Is meaningless, useless
And utterly false.

- Hiya Pakhi

Sri Chinmoy has composed many songs about the heart. To Sri Chinmoy the heart or Spiritual heart represents the location where the soul is most strongly felt.

A phrase that is commonly used is "singing from the heart". This means being able to sing without music but also suggests we are singing the song soulfully rather than mechanically. Sri Chinmoy says if we sing from the heart we will get the most from spiritual music.

Let us not try to Understand Music

"Let us not try to understand music
With our mind.
Let us not even try to feel it
With our heart.
Let us simply and spontaneously
Allow the music-bird to fly
In our heart-sky.
While flying, it will unconditionally
Reveal to us
What it has and what it is.
What it has
Is Immortality’s message
And what it is
Is Eternity’s passage
"

When we enter into the spiritual life, we come to realise that we also have a soulful heart, a heart of peace and a heart of delight. The soulful heart we need at every moment in our life of aspiration. Without it we cannot make an iota of inner progress. The peaceful heart we need because when peace is wanting in our life, this life has no abiding satisfaction. The heart of delight we need because it is the very source of our divine plenitude and infinitude. We came from delight, we live in delight and, at the end of our journey's close, into delight we retire. "
